Home is....Let me see a show of hands!

I don't know any mom who would not raise her hand if asked if spending time with her kids is the number one gift she could ever receive on mother's day.
Sure sure all the little homemade gifts you get over the years that litter your windowsill are treasures from and for the heart.  However if you were to ask for a show of hands I am not sure of any mom who would not raise hers for that gift on Mother's Day.   I received that gift this year.  It was one of my girls graduation and we all descended upon her now Alma Mater which I find interesting since Mater is latin for mother.

We feasted on crawfish, dined at the finest place in town and just had a ball being together more than anything.  When it came time to say goodbye it was Mother's Day, and I had had more like a Mother's Weekend.  A glorious one at that.  Full of dreams, tears, joys, pondering and a wealth of laughter that will have to last us all til next we gather again.  I got exactly what I was hoping for.

Home is......Scent of Heaven

Flowers add a certain charm to a room.  Especially when they are fresh and first come home.  They add a touch of color, life and style to any room.  I will never forget the first time I saw acres and acres and acres of these lovely beauties.  There is something about a sunflower that exudes a happy face or a smile when you first see them.  Now try and picture as far as your eye can see to the right and as far as your eye can see to your left, side by side, shoulder to shoulder, stem to stem of nothing but sunflowers.  In August if you drive through Kansas on your way to Denver on Interstate 70 that is what you will encounter.  And I say it is an encounter because it is a phenomenon beyond comprehension for so many to be growing in one place and being so thankful you had a chance to see them in bloom. "neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom. 8:39
Or perhaps you stumble on this hot pink spot on a hike through the Texas woods overlooking the Frio River canyon.  A small token of appreciation to our heavenly Father as He provided just a touch of rain as an offering of thanks.  The year of this picture we had over 100 days without rain yet His grace was sufficient.
"Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him.  See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught.  Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done." Col. 2:7

This mountain sage blooms when rain is eminent within a 24 to 78 hour period of time.  This one was so profuse and buzzing with bees I was drawn to its magnitude of color and potency.  I had to fill my frame in my camera with how much it filled my mind with its incredible ability to catch my eye.  And so, we are to be captured by God's ability to Love us like this without even saying a word and then all of a sudden saying the Word and we are caught.
"No eye has seen,, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what the Lord has prepared, but by His spirit He is revealed; His plans for those who Love Him." 1 Cor. 2:9
